A plus size shop in Armthorpe, Doncaster

Not everyone knows about LJ’s Ladies Boutique (Curve and Plus size fashion) having started life as a small shop in the Doncaster village of Armthorpe, the boutique caters for ladies sized up to a 28. With many ladies struggling to find what they were looking for on the high street, it soon developed a following in the Doncaster area for curvy and plus size girls looking for comfortable, stylish and affordable clothing.

Branching out online

Since the beginning of covid, LJ’s Ladies Boutique expanded its following online. With the Armthorpe store closed due to restrictions, the company began to showcase their products online with a rapid influx of followers on the social media platforms.

A day out in Yorkshire

In Autumn 2022, LJ’s decided to open a second boutique in the Yorkshire Hive. This premium destination is located at the entrance of the popular Yorkshire Wildlife park. Here visitors can find an array of shops, bars, places to eat and a newly opened hotel. Watch our quick tour here.
It’s a hive of activity (hence the name) and visitors flock from around the country. If visiting the Yorkshire Wildlife park it’s a must-do to visit the Hive either before or after you’ve strolled around the park.
For locals that just wish to enjoy a few hours, it’s fantastic that you do not need park tickets to enter. With free entry and free parking the Hive welcomes people back time and time again.

Finally, a PLUS SIZE boutique at the Yorkshire Hive

When LJ’s Boutique was approached to open a store amongst the other retailers, they felt it was a perfect placement. Not too far from the online warehouse and shop at Armthorpe, it offered a new place for ladies to visit – it also meant that customers coming from further afield could make a real day out of it.
The shop at the Hive stocks a fabulous range of curvy and plus size outfits, including some unique pieces that can’t be found in the online store.
Friendly shop assistants, comfortable changing rooms and a welcoming atmosphere make it an enjoyable shopping experience for all.

Neighbouring attractions

There’s a whole host of options within a short walking distance of the boutique. Meaning if your visiting the area with friends and family they don’t need to wait around whilst you try on every item of clothing in the shop!
Beer lovers can find a fantastic selection of craft ales, ciders and more at the Badger next door – whereas keen gardeners may wish to browse the plant shop just across the way.
I’m more of a foodie myself and can’t walk past the gelato waffle shop without popping my head through the door.
